HTC Weather Fix

HTC discontinued its official Weather service. HTC Weather Fix is an independent solution that restores the original weather app on supported legacy phones without root. It uses a local Android VPN to redirect only legacy weather DNS lookups to a compatible replacement service.

Installation and usage

  1. Download the APK to your phone.
  2. Enable Unknown sources in Settings.
  3. Install HTC Weather Fix.
  4. Open the app and tap Start VPN.
  5. Open HTC Weather and refresh the forecast.
  6. On Android 4.3 or later, install the additional Root CA by following the in-app instructions. This certificate step is unrelated to rooting the phone.
